Skin is a Covering

The skin is the covering of our body, and skin is derived from the Nordic word skinn which means “to hide”. And when Adam and Eve ate from the tree of knowledge, in their nakedness, they would hide from the presence of God. “Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings. They heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.”
